The Walnut Dumbbell Stand.
Our signature piece. Six pairs from 5 to 27 kg, hand-turned in solid walnut, each head stamped with its weight and ringed in brass, on a three-tier stand of the same timber.

Walnut is dense, close-grained and quiet in the hand. It takes a hard oiled finish, deepens in colour with use, and — unlike rubber and chrome — can be sanded back and re-oiled a decade from now.
The stand is built to be looked at as much as lifted: it sits against a wall or in an alcove as a piece of furniture, and it is the first thing most clients ask for after seeing a finished room.

The workshop
Wood, because it lasts.
Material
Solid hardwood, joined and oiled. No veneer, no MDF, no plastic. It takes knocks, and it takes a sanding and a fresh coat of oil a decade from now.
Hardware
Brass and steel where the piece needs to pivot, lock or carry load. Fitted by hand, and replaceable without replacing the piece.
Lifetime
Every piece is made to be repaired, not replaced. It is the quiet reason our builds carry roughly one-fifth the carbon of a commercial-grade fit-out.

Questions
Frequently asked.
Can the set go heavier than 27 kg?
Yes. The standard stand carries six pairs from 5 to 27 kg; heavier, lighter or larger sets are built to order. Tell us how you train and we will size the set and the stand to match.
Do wooden dumbbells feel different to lift?
The grip is warmer and quieter than knurled steel, and the balance is checked in the workshop before a set leaves. Every head is stamped with its exact weight.
Can I order the dumbbells without the stand?
Yes. Sets and stands are commissioned separately or together, and we can also build a stand for weights you already own.
How long does a stand take to make?
Every piece is made to order in our London workshop. Lead time is confirmed with your quotation and usually sits within the four-to-twelve-week window of a full build.
