London · By commission

Home gym design, London.

Private training rooms designed and built in London homes for a decade — from a spare room in a Notting Hill flat to a basement suite in Hampstead — by the architects, trainers and joiners of Terra Hale.

Studio build, Fulham. Showroom and workshop at our Notting Hill and Chelsea studios, by appointment.

London is where the workshop is. Our joiners build the equipment in the city, our team installs it, and our two studios in Notting Hill and Chelsea double as showrooms where you can lift the pieces before you commission them.

We know the constraints: listed buildings, basement head-heights, party-wall acoustics, freehold-versus-lease, and the lorry that cannot get down the mews. Each one is a design problem we have solved before.

How we work

From enquiry to first session, in London.

01 · Consultation

Sixty minutes, on site in London or by video. How you train, who else uses the room, what it should be made of.

02 · Design

We measure, photograph and draw: CAD layout, materials palette, lighting and ventilation. Treated as architecture, not as a kit.

03 · Workshop

Wooden equipment and joinery are hand-built in our London workshop while site works run in parallel.

04 · Build & handover

Our own team installs end-to-end — floor, walls, mirrors, mechanical, electrical, joinery — and hands over with a first session. Most projects complete in four to twelve weeks.

Questions

Frequently asked.

How much does a luxury home gym cost in London?

Our commissions start from £25,000 for a compact room, £75,000 for a Signature room with a bespoke free-weight wall and recovery, and £200,000 for an Estate build with a full recovery suite. Every project is scoped individually at a complimentary consultation.

Can I see the equipment before I commission?

Yes. Our workshop and showroom are at the Terra Hale studios — 155 Notting Hill Gate, W11, and 247–249 Old Brompton Road, SW5 — by appointment.

Do you handle planning and listed-building consent?

We design with it in mind and coordinate with your architect or planning consultant where consent is needed; most internal fit-outs do not require it.

How long does a London build take?

Most projects complete in four to twelve weeks from design sign-off. Compact rooms sit at the shorter end; Estate builds with a recovery suite at the longer.

Do you convert basements and garages?

Yes — basements, garages, garden studios and pool houses are the most common London briefs. Waterproofing, ventilation and acoustics are designed in from the first drawing.
